The mermaid. A half-fish, half-human creature that no one knows if it exists or existed. That's why this pair of earrings exudes a mystical charm, along with its antiquated look. The story behind the earrings - a mermaid diving into the depths of the ocean to hunt for that elusive crystall ball which has the magical ability to grant wishes. At least that how I felt while designing the earrings. To the depths of the Ocean can be worn in 2 ways - as shown in Photo 1, and Photo 2.

Luffworks is back in action!

The long hiatus due to work commitments has made me realise how much I missed making jewelry and the copious (and inextinguishable) passion I possess for this hobby of mine. More so when I receive enquiries from Luffworks-ians, from time to time, about my upcoming projects. That is extremely heartening to hear and in fact, I feel bad about missing in action quite a bit. I thrive on your support so do keep them coming my way! ;) During this period, I have also tried my hand at uncovering new techniques that will help revitalise my creations. This, I realise, is a never-ending quest which I have embarked on and will be most happy to carry on with.

It's quite a challenge to attempt to create two coils that are exactly the same and I've come to realise that no two coils can be the same and that is, exactly the very quintessence of handmade products - every piece is unique.

An Old World Charm - Sorry, she's not for sale!

Sorry gals, this ring is not for sale! I wanted to share the photo of this ring for it looks simply too pretty not to share it! Well, the look and feel of this ring is a mish-mash of everything nice - with a hint of Japanese, a dash of vintage bling and in its entirety, it is one sweet looking ring! =)

Coiling is used extensively in this ring, juxataposed with lotsa Swarovski crystals and a handful of Freshwater pearls. Notice the flower-looking (some say fireworks) charm that resembles something from a bygone era... Oohhh.... What more can I say? ;)

You Bling Me Crazy! Ring - SOLD

Wow! This ring is certainly not for the faint-hearted given the amount of bling it contains! Donning this ring suggests that the wearer is one-of-a-kind, bold, non-conformist and sure screams tonnes of ME!

This darling took me almost half a day to create but was well-worth the effort and hardened skin. Coiling is evidently abundant in this pair of earrings. Brilliant!!! I'm finally able to post photos of my jewelry via my MacBook! Yippee!!! ;)

This pair of earrings features one of the latest techniques that I've picked up, known as coiling. Everything on this pair is handmade and handcoiled, and this I mean all components are delicately handcoiled, even the earwires (except for the crystals and fillers of course! ;))! This means is that no two pairs are identical!

Nonya Splendour : One-of-a-kind! (SOLD: Sorry, no re-makes)

*The Peranakan Collection*

14k gold-plated charms juxtaposed with a pair of Indonesia batik yoyos, oozing lotsa of good old-fashioned Peranakan charm. The Peranakans or Straits-born Chinese are a result of inter-marriages between Chinese men and Malay (non-Muslim) ladies, creating a new breed of generation known as the Peranakans. The Peranakans speak pre-dominantly Baba Malay (even though most of them were English-educated and tend to be more affluent than most of the local Chinese back then) - which according to my mum, a Peranakan, is a mish mash of Malay and Hokkien. "Baba" refers to the Peranakan men, while "Nonya" refers to the women.

This pair of earrings possesses a strong Peranakan element as the Peranakans (in the olden days) wear a lot of the kebaya, pairing it with sarong made of the batik fabric.
